We're not kidding ... but it might not mean what you think.
We work less because we've organized our work along very precise procedures: we've computerised all of the repetitive tasks so that we can use our time first to think and then to act. We have much more time to control and improve our production process and more time to dedicate to clients and translators.
More time to save more time...
We believe that the best way to guarantee excellent results and competitive prices is, first and foremost, to choose the right translator. We don't believe in the saying "quality over quantity", rather we focus on achieving both "quality and quantity". We invest heavily in the continuous search for great translators. On average we receive 8000 translator CVs per year and our selection manager carefully reviews each one to discover new talent. Today, our online database contains 297,735 translation professionals that we work with, and more than 12,000 that can be contacted within a few hours. Such a wide selection, supported by rigid quality controls and a complex evaluation method, allows us to find professionals who are less expensive, more qualified and immediately available for every type of work.
Translators are automatically notified of a new order by the contact method specified in their translator account profile. On average, the translator is already working on the job within 20-30 minutes. (We send job orders by telephone, e-mail, SMS and instant messaging).
Since we are an Internet-based company and work with clients in different time-zones, we are usually able to process new orders between 8:00 and 23:00 (Central European time, GMT +1), Monday through Friday.
Every order is checked for spelling and basic grammar. In addition, based on the plan selected, the entire project, or samples, will be reviewed by another translator.
More than 50 % of orders are read by a reviewer who assesses the work carried out and assigns a quality index to the translator's work. This is used to define the abilities of each translator and identify their fields of specialisation.
To guarantee uniformity of style and terminology, if the order allows for it, Translated uses translation memories, glossaries and shared dictionaries.
The project managers deliver the translated documents and updates the project's status and invoicing. The project manager is there to provide client support.
The project manager is the link between the client and Translated for the entire production and post-production phase of an order.
