IT11 Senior Web Engineer

• Application deadline: 15 May 2010
• Contract type: 2-year temporary contract, possibility of renewal.
• Office location: Rome
• Duties: You will work on developing the MyMemory project, the largest translation archive in the world.
  You will be involved in developing high usability GUIs, algorithms and applications for natural language processing, machine learning, statistical machine translation and general artificial intelligence capable of drawing multilingual information from the web. You will implement and manage a highly-scalable cloud-based platform.
  
  You will work with the Head of Engineering for technology and with the CEO for strategy.

LA01 Project Manager

Continuous selection, Translated appoints a new PM each semester

• Current position: English or Chinese mother tongue
• Contract type: Two-year contract, renewable, with a 3-month paid trial period.
• Office location: Rome
• Duties: As Project Manager, you are responsible for overseeing translators, developers and designers. You will be in direct contact with the client during all phases of the project.
  You will learn about all the technology and methodology linked to managing multilingual content (e.g., CAT, Terminology Management, HTML, XML, UNICODE, Data Mining, Machine Translation, etc.).
• Requirements: Excellent knowledge of Italian and English
  At least 3 years at university
  Aged between 25 and 35.
  Excellent knowledge of the Internet and related software applications. Excellent knowledge of MS Office. Capable of coordinating and leading a team. Very enthusiastic about learning and teaching new computer tools and working methods.
• Preference will be given to the following qualifications: university studies in the field of computing, translation and computational linguistics.

Junior Translator (localization experience)

• Duties: We are looking for junior translators to carry out IT-related translation projects over a 3 to 6-month trainee period.
  Selected translators will carry out IT translations and revisions using CAT tools and working in teams with other professional translators.
  The successful appplicant will have a good knowledge of IT translation and preferably experience in software localisation.
  At the end of the trainee period, the successful applicant will be guaranteed a strong possibility of freelance work.
• Minimum requirements: Italian native speakers with a good knowledge of English.
  Post-graduate or "vecchio ordinamento" degree in languages or translation.
  Knowledge of the use of CAT tools.
  Experience in software localization.
  Strong knowledge of IT terminology and concepts such as variables, markup languages, etc.
  Excellent knowledge of the Internet and related software applications.
  Preference will be given to the following qualifications: knowledge of the CAT tool IBM TM/2.
